Support

Plastone support covers the working details that matter once a countertop brief has been signed off. From templating and seam planning to care after installation, our team keeps the job clear for homes, offices and shopfitters.

A support counter built around the job on site

Support starts with the measurements, the room layout and the finish you expect to live with. Morne Moonsamy and the team in Strijdom Park work with engineered quartz and solid-surface surfaces for kitchens, vanities, reception counters and fitted splashbacks across Gauteng.

Lebo Mokoena handles the flow between workshop, site and installation planning, while Ayesha Naicker keeps the estimating notes aligned with the templated dimensions. That matters when there are wall bows, tiled backs, uneven floors or corners that do not sit true.

Templating notes that keep the cut accurate

Johan Ngwenya leads templating and digital measuring, with attention to hob positions, sink basins, mitred edges and overhangs for seating areas. A clean template saves time later because the slab layout can be planned around veining, joins and offcut use before cutting begins.

  • Site templating for kitchens, vanities and counters
  • Digital measuring for accurate wall-to-wall fit
  • Slab layout planning before fabrication starts
  • Sink cut-outs, hob cut-outs and seam positions marked in advance

Fabrication details that change the finish

Sibusiso Mdlalose oversees workshop work that includes cutting, edge profiling and seam joining. Quartz is often specified for its dense surface and steady look, while solid-surface allows more shaping around curves, backs and coved details where the brief calls for it.

Edge profiles can be kept square, pencil rounded or slightly softened, depending on the room and the way the top will be used. Slab thickness also matters, especially where a heavy visual edge is wanted or where lighter sections suit a smaller vanity.

Installation support for homes, offices and shopfitters

Candice Mthethwa plans the installation sequence so the fitting team knows what is going in first, what needs protection and where access is tight. The same care applies whether the job is a family kitchen in Fourways, a boardroom counter in Sandton or a retail front in Johannesburg.

  • Countertop installation with neat wall finishing
  • Vanity installation for bathrooms and guest suites
  • Splashback fitting behind preparation and wash areas
  • Seam placement suited to room layout and access

Care advice for stain, heat and daily use

Thabo Rademeyer gives aftercare advice that matches the surface, the room and the way people actually use it. Quartz needs sensible heat protection and prompt wipe-downs after spills, while solid-surface benefits from gentle cleaning and careful handling around hot cookware.

Strong detergents, abrasive pads and rough scouring can mark a polished face over time. Hot pans, kettle bases and other direct heat sources should not sit on the slab, and a trivet is a safer habit in busy kitchens.

Where support calls often start

Some projects need a quick check on seam placement, others need help after installation when a vanity tap hole was changed or a splashback edge needs attention. If a room was measured before final tiles went in, or a cabinet line shifted, the final fit may need one more look.

Our contact form is the route clients use for support on a live job, care advice, or a follow-up note for a templated and installed surface. The same channel also works for Randburg, Roodepoort, Midrand, Pretoria and the other Gauteng installation areas.

  • Site note after templating
  • Installed surface care query
  • Change to sink, hob or tap cut-out
  • Aftercare advice for quartz or solid-surface tops
